Nicky Hart found Jesus and was saved in November 2005. After her baptism in April 2006, she was called to God’s work and began her vocation as a missionary in July 2006. With Cornerstone Church of Crozet, VA, she embarked on a 2.5-week youth missions trip to Trinidad and Tobago. The team ran a vacation bible school, worked with the youth group, and painted and improved Cornerstone Church of Trinidad and Tobago.
After working in Trinidad and Tobago, God called Nicky to Brazil. In July 2007 she attended a six month missions program through the International Christian Organization, YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Piratininga, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The first 3-months of DTS (Discipleship Training School) were made up of intensive spiritual studies and local missions. Long days included classes in biblical studies, evangelism, relationships, and more. Community service included work in a local orphanage, visiting and praying with homeless senior citizens, and teaching English and Ballet at an inner city middle school. Nicky became proficient in Portuguese with diligent study and the help of her Brazilian friends. Translators were very helpful to her communications.
The last 2-months of the DTS were spent on an outreach program as a missionary in Brazil. The first two and a half weeks were devoted to supporting the First Baptist Church of Pimenta Bueno, in local missions serving the community. The remainder was spent up the Amazon River in Ressaca, a small river village in the North of Brazil.
Nicky is now preparing to return to Piratininga, Brazil at the end of the summer for at least one year. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated. Updates will be posted to my Blog and please signup for my newsletters.
